Lately, I have been working on a new product for my list. I’ve just changed the site from Painting-With-A- Palette-Knife.com to TheArtistStation.com. This was a little challenging for me. I was very apprehensive of switching it over. I know I need to evolve painting with the palette knife but wasn’t sure how to or to what. I thought about changing it over to my site where I sell and promote my artwork at A. Austin Art.com, this way I know I would be building my brand. However, I felt that TheArtistStation.com could stand alone and become much bigger if I thought it out and took the right action.
I nervously took the plunge and did a 301 redirect. It cost about a hundred dollars on upwork.com. There were a few glitches, but nothing serious and the process went smoothly. My next step was to provide a new product to my potential customers. I did a little research and a little probing on followers and discovered a few insights. I feel like I have enough info but need a little more info. I have a live painting class where my avatar will be there on Saturday so I will probe them a little more to get information for my new product. I kind of have an idea what the new product is, but I think this new info will either confirm what I have already in my mind or will help tailor the product better for my potential customers.
The challenges I am having is taking the action to make the product. There’s a lot of work involved in planning, painting, recording and editing the videos. Since I am running a business that requires video tutorials, it requires a lot of preparation and time. My other challenge is not knowing if creating this new product will work.
The cool thing about changing the site to TheArtistStation.com is that I can go in so many directions. I can turn it into an authority site where I add a bunch of content that helps artists in so many areas and just add affiliate links throughout the site. I also thought about it becoming a big media site that helps artists, but this would be later on down the road. Perhaps, ten years down the road. Overall, I think the site can be a great site if I plan it out right.
Another challenge I am having is staying focused. I have so many things going on that’s it hard to stay focused on one object. All projects seem important and they all seem to have the potential to be great. A while ago, I started following the steps of Spencer Haws over at Niche Pursuits where I created a niche site based on his methods taught on his site. I started about three or four months ago on the side. It’s a niche that I know nothing about, but I hired people to provide content for the site. Though this was totally different for me, I enjoyed adding the content to the site and building links to the site. I haven’t seen any return yet, but for some odd reason I feel I will later on. Most of the income from that site would come from Amazon affiliates.
In conclusion, my challenges and enthusiasm to become a full-time online marketer is still a passion that I would like to come to fruition. I am committed to making it work and fulfilling my dreams of having a unique lifestyle. If I stay focus and committed, I am confident that my goals will be accomplished
